A legend in the making: The story of Andy Pages.

Updated: Jun 21

Born in Freddy Peraza, Cuba, Andy grew up in a country where baseball isn’t just a pastime, it’s woven into the soul. As a young boy, he’d mimic the swings of Cuban legends with a broomstick in his backyard, dreaming of one day wearing the uniform of the greats. With raw power and a love for the game that lit up every field he stepped onto, it didn’t take long for scouts to take notice. In 2017, at just 17 years old, Pages signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent, a kid with a big smile, a booming bat, and a dream bigger than the island he left behind.

After years of grinding in the minors, Andy’s patience and perseverance paid off. He battled through injuries, slumps, and a COVID-era that delayed so many prospects’ journeys, but never once did he flinch. And now, here he is in 2025, standing in the bright lights of Dodger Stadium, pounding clutch home runs and delivering in the big moments. Just recently, he flipped the script on the Padres, going 4 for 4 and 2 homers that had Chavez Ravine roaring like the glory days of Garvey, Cey, and Lopes. A strong, compact swing, a cannon for an arm in the outfield, Pages is quickly becoming the name that Dodger fans chant in unison.

And so, dear friends, it must be said: Andy Pages deserves to be an All-Star. Not just for the home runs, not just for the batting average, but for the journey. For the heart. For the way he carries himself with humility and hunger. Baseball often finds a way to shine its light on those who never stop chasing it, and right now, there may be no brighter rising star in Los Angeles than number 44 in blue. And if you ask me, that's a story worthy of applause.
